Aurora Borealis
There was good Auroral activity after a CME event earlier in the week and with the Kp around 4 most of the evening I went out to Midmar. On arrival the stars were shining brightly and a bright green arc of Aurora stood prominently in the north, only a few degrees above the horizon. It slowly faded during the 30 minutes I observed but the camera picked up some details, including beams. Also observed were Orion and the winter constellations as well as the winter Milky Way.
1x20s exposure at ISO 1600, 17mm at f/4, processed using Aperture.
