Notes

Clear with light haze building as the evening progressed. Made the most of a short window before a bright moon rose in the east over the shoulder of the hill. Cold and gusty wind.

In the dark and clear conditions before the moon rose the Andromeda Galaxy looked stunning with the light of the galaxy stretching across the field of view in the 25mm Plossl. I switched over to the 30mm eyepiece and enjoyed the vista. The centre was bright and defined. The galaxy appeared brighter on one side.

A summer target now sinking into the west but excellent views in the dark skies despite pointing the scope towards a streetlight. Very easily found in the finderscope and perhaps the best view in the eyepiece I've ever had of this target. The bright central region looked very well defined with
